Midsomer Norton at the Exhibitions

Midsomer Norton had its first public outing at the Australian Model Railway Association last March. The group received heaps of positive feedback about the layout. The most enthusiastic responses centred around the unisual circular shape of the layout and the amount of scenic area able to be fitted into such a small footprint (the layout is only about 3 metres by 3.2 metres). People like the way the scene unfolded as they walked around the layout - with new features appearing around each corner, but none visible all at once.

On the down side, some pointed out that we could have had more trees, more people, and more lifelike vignettes. Judge for yourselves as you view the pics below.

Since the March AMRA exhibition, we've done quite a bit of work adding extra detail to the layout in the form of road vehicles, extra people, a greater degree of polish in the village scene, lots of lineside junk, and yes you guessed it - more trees.

We've also had another go at exhibiting Midsomer Norton - this time at the Waverley Model Railway Club exhibition in early June. Again, comments were very favourable. Check out the pics below for some of the extra features we've added in the past few weeks.
