Common S & DJR Locomotive Classes

This section is to give modellers a bit of an idea of the locomotive classes commonly used on the Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway. There were relatively few classes used on the S&DJR and equally few R to R models available. For this reason, we will over time be including some of the "regular visitors" from companies like the GWR, LMS and Southern.

The common loads section is intended to show the modeller the types of rolling stock to couple to the locos for a "typical" look.

The unusual loads section is designed to give the modeller some ideas for a really different but still authentic look. This is where the fun stuff comes into it - creating something totally out of the ordinary, something no other modeller is likely to have. So go for it. Have some fun!
